Every year, my college’s jazz ensemble goes on a tour up the east coast and there is free food for DAYS. Unfortunately, I had at it like an animal. =/
I have to stop doing things like that and then trying to promise myself “Now it’s time to do better!”
So I’ll keep taking it one day at a time and see how it goes.
I kept complaining about how I needed some weights in my room since going to gym always fails. So I finally bought a couple 10 lb weights. That’s gonna help so much!
I was reminiscing about Paris today, and thinking about how much healthier I was. Without even trying!
I would go to sleep at midnight every night (Thanks for shutting the internet off every night, host parents.), I rarely ate highly processed foods, I walked every where ALL the time, and I was never tired/sleepy!
Since I’ve been back, I’ve slumped back into old habits: stocking up on crappy cafeteria pizza; staying up until 1, 2, and 3 in the morning; skipping exercise all the time; and thinking about all of that all the time! I never thought about eating and exercising while I was abroad. It just happened.
I was also thinking about how I don’t seem to have a clear reason for why I want to lose weight. Yes, I’ll be healthier, but currently, all of my health stats are fine. Yes, I might get more attention from guys, but it’s not like I’m a walking Forever Alone meme. Yes, I can wear the cuter, smaller clothes, but I already dress pretty darn well in the size 12 clothes.
I need an epiphany. A spark. Something to light a fire under me for real. I’ll get super motivated and go hard for a week (maybe even 2!), but I can’t seem to find a long-term solution. I need that long-term solution because health is long-term. If I get fit and healthy, it won’t be a fad, it’ll be a lifestyle.
Soooo, I’m a little peeved that the Atlanta Color Run closed early. I signed up, but my friends didn’t get a chance to. *sob*
Oh well, they’ll probably volunteer so we can still do the event “together”.
alwayssss want to do this at the gym when good songs come on hahaha
Advantage of having a treadmill in the garage - every cool down mode!
Yeah…This would be a little embarrassing in the school gym. lol
But it’s cranberries I’m noshing on, so it’s all good. =]
We were basically doing kickboxing while holding weights today. It wasn’t as intense as last week, but STILL.
Anyway, I used the little body fat machine and got my reading.
Body Fat Percentage: 31.9
BMI: 29.4
I’m not sure how I feel. On a chart, my body fat is juuuuust inbetween acceptable and obese. Hm…And my BMI is no longer in the obese range, which is good!
I still have work to do though. LEHGO.
Weight: 182 lbs (-5.8lbs from Dec 25) Highest Weight: 218 lbs Measurements: I didn’t get a chance to use the tools in the gym and get other stats, so I guess that’ll come later!
-Neck: 14.25”
-Upper Arm: 13.25”
-Forearm: 10.5”
-Bust: 39”
-Waist: 36”
-Hips: 40.5”
-Thigh: 24”
-Calf: 15”
And he said something that put a little fire under me. (In a good way.)
I was complaining that I keep seeing all these awesome before/after pictures with a difference of something like 3-6 months and I’m like “That’s all I need! I wanna be one of the girls who has the transformation in just a few months!”
And all he said was “Do it. Get in the gym every day and eat right. Stop screwing around and get serious about it.”
So, I will.
IS NO JOKE.
I went with a bunch of friends to a Power Yoga class at the gym. I obviously need to work on my stamina, endurance, and upper body/core strength. =/
But it will happen!
